I started my YouTube Channel in 2020 after having made several online purchases. The items looked great in the pictures on the online store. The company had lots of good reviews on various websites. And the items had good review from videos posted online. However, I quickly learned that there are companies that can cheat the system to get better reviews, good lighting can make an item look better than it is, and online reviewers can often be paid off to create positive review videos and posts; sometimes even using scripted phrases.
There are some people who can buy a higher priced item online (like a suit or dress shoes) and find out that the item they received was not the quality that they expected. And they can accept the loss and move on. But there are also people who save up to get a new suit, a nice sweater, dress shoes, or even a gift for someone else. If what arrives is not an acceptable quality, they may not be able to chock it up to a lesson learned and move on. They may have needed that suit for a wedding or a job interview and don’t have the time or means to get another.
I created my YouTube channel and subsequently, this blog to be able to provide people with honest reviews. At no point will we accept money to make a positive review. There may be videos and blog posts that are sponsored. These will be labeled as such and will still be an honest review. At no point will we ever accept sponsorship for an item we don’t believe in or recommend. Most of the items reviewed were purchased. There are some items that were provided free of charge to for us to make a review. Again, those will be labeled as such. Regardless of whether the item(s) were purchased or provided, the review video/blogs are mine/our honest opinions.
Having spent 10 years in the US Navy, I have had the core values instilled into my very being. Honor – Holding myself accountable for what I say and do. Abiding by an uncompromising code of integrity and conducting myself in the highest ethical manner. Making honest recommendations based on accurate reviews. Courage – Doing what is right as opposed to what is the easiest or selfish. Putting myself out there to help others learn from my experiences and mistakes. Commitment – Being fully dedicated to providing people with the best information that I am able to provide, continuously striving for improvement, and earning the respect of those who watch my videos or read my blogs.
That being said; doing these reviews can get pricey. The income generated by YouTube ad revenue helps to allow us to provide more content and of more items. We also use affiliate links in many of the videos/blog posts. One way that you can support the YouTube channel and this blog site is by purchasing from the provided links. You do not incur any additional costs by using the links, in fact; where we can we provide links that give you a discount by using them. And the companies that provide the links provide us with a commission for introducing you to their products. This allows you to purchase an item that you have already planned on purchasing at an equal or lesser cost to you. And it allows us to be able to keep providing valuable content to readers/viewers to help avoid costly purchases that could become regretful purchases.
Additionally, being a “Dad”; I of course have a full house and limited space available. Therefore, many of the items we review end up getting donated after they are no longer needed. This allows us to support our community by helping those in need to be able to get nicer clothing to elevate their style at a lower/no cost to them.
