When you want to look your best, it’s a common idea that it doesn’t get much better than a custom suit. I’m talking about the real made-to-measure suits that really fit everything perfectly to give you that James Bond feel.
But when you Google ‘custom-made suit’, we all get the same five or six companies. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. Surely there must be more companies than this monopoly, and if so, which one should you go for?
Well, My Suit Tailor is one such company, and today, I’m going to share my experience with the company and detail everything you need to know as to whether this is the custom suit company for you.

What is My Suit Tailor?
As someone who loves clothing, looking good, and finding new brands that match my values, My Suit Tailor certainly caught my attention. On the surface, the suits look affordable and high-quality, and the custom order process seems pretty clean.
The company was founded by Alex Kriplani, a guy with over 15 years of experience as a traveling tailor who has personally measured and fitted thousands of customers worldwide. Long story short, it’s clear he knows what he’s doing, and he ended up moving online around 2018.
I dug a little deeper and found myself in contact with Alex. After a bit of small talk, we got talking about suits, and he decided to send me one of his to try out for myself. Of course, I’m not one to turn down an opportunity, and we get to find out what these suits are actually like together.
Again, if you know me, I’m not one to say HEY, YOU NEED TO BUY THIS SUIT RIGHT NOW! You’re your own person, and decide what’s best for you. You might love this suit or hate it. I’m just here to give you an idea of what the brand is like, the quality of the experience, and anything else you need to know to make the best decision for you.
On that note, let’s get into it.
Getting the Suit
Okay, so the first step was actually ordering the suit and getting the measurement right, and I’m always interested to see how businesses do this accurately when they’re working online.
Right off the bat, I knew Alex and his team knew what they were doing. He understood that the term ‘made-to-measure’ for many companies means sticking some basic physical data into a computer algorithm to get the generic sizes. It’s fitted, but it’s not perfect.
Instead, Alex asked me to go through the more traditional way of doing things. He asked for my measurements and even got back to me with follow-up questions for two numbers that didn’t look right.
He was right.
In fact, the measurements I sent were old ones I always kept on a card, but after running things by Alex, I had to update my card as I was out by an inch.
So far, so good.
The Suit Itself
Overall, the trousers are decent. They’re nicely fitting and comfortable and fit my size exceptionally well. There’s no worse than unfitted, oversized trousers. The quarter break is pretty much spot-on too.
You can’t really do much with trousers, but My Suit Tailor knocked it out of the park.
The Jacket
Ah, my favorite part.
The My Suit Tailor jacket is stunning. The royal blue inner lining with the shark gray contrasts work really well, and it feels great. Again, I went with the slim fit option with peak lapels (which work best for me with a larger frame), a breast pocket, and three pockets on the front.
This was also the first jacket I have with a ticket pocket (I was just curious about the option), and personally, yeah, it works really well for me. It’s a classic touch and helps add a nice finish to the overall style.
I did, however, follow my standard go-to with the single-breasted buttons. I don’t really like how three buttons raise the ‘V’ up where the two sides of the jacket meet, and I always avoid that where possible.
Each sleeve has four buttons, all functioning (surgical buttons) and not just aesthetic, which is a really nice touch that is a small way the jacket shows off its quality. But, it doesn’t stop there.
The Suit Quality
Overall, I was impressed by this suit.
It’s made from Italian, super 110S wool known for being super soft, high-quality, and durable, and it really just feels beautiful to wear. It’s precisely how you want a suit like this to feel.
I gave the two thorough and detailed lookovers and couldn’t find any visible faults. The stitching is absolutely spot-on. Like breathtakingly so.
I’ve ordered plenty of made-to-measure suits throughout my life, and while I may be a little pedantic, I’ve always had to alter them to how I like. Yes, most companies do these changes for free (like NCG Taylor, Oliver Wicks, and so on), but not this time.
This is the first suit that I haven’t had to touch, which only made me love it more. They got the fit perfectly, and that little bit of attention to detail during the measuring process, and the quality of the suit, really shows in the final product.
Conclusion
I’m a little taken aback by the MST suit, and there’s really nothing bad to say about it. This version was the more expensive one, coming in just under the $500 mark. That being said, this is reflected in the quality of the materials and work, but more affordable and expensive versions are available.
I’m saying it all depends on your budget and what you’re looking for, and My Suit Tailor certainly has something for everyone.
After a thorough examination, I highly recommend MST, and you should indeed check them out for yourself to see what they can do for you. Check out their latest promotions here, and I’ll see you next time!
