Sene Studio – SOHO Flex Tech Suit Review

There are some people who dislike dressing up in a suit. They say it requires too much upkeep and maintenance with ironing and dry cleaning. They say that they can’t move around in a suit. Well, there’s an answer for that. Sene Studio is a company that makes suits that address all of those issues. It’s called the Soho FlexTech Suit.

This suit is custom made to your measurements, however it is not fully customizable as some other companies offer. Don’t run away yet. This is still a great suit for many folks out there. I like to use my brother as an example. He’s normally a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy. At work, he is a jeans and polo shirt person. I feel like this causes people to look at him like his attire means he’s less of a professional. He’s one of the hardest and smartest workers in his office, but I feel like his attire causes some to think negatively of him upon first meeting him.
I’ve suggested more professional attire to him on many occasions. I’ve even sent him several options that would fit him (we are twins, and are pretty close to the same size). He regularly tells me that he wouldn’t have the range of motion in a suit that he would need to be able to do his job. That’s understandable. Suit’s are usually slightly restrictive with a range of motion. You generally can’t lift your arms up in front of you or above your head as easily. Typically, most people don’t move their arms in those positions that often. I suggested that he unbutton the jacket when he needs to but as with his job, he needs to quite often.  The Soho FlexTech Suit allows for that type of range because of the FlexTech used to make the suit. It’s super stretchy. You can see in the picture below, I have no issues raising my arms above my head in this suit.

The next objection he has is that suits don’t fit him right. That one’s easy. Most suits wont fit us right off of the rack. That’s why there are tailor shops. They take that suit that’s meant to fit as many people as possible and tailor it to make it work with your body shape. However, this suit is custom made. I filled out their questionnaire in a few minutes and then waited. The questionnaire consisted of a bunch of questions like;

  • Which picture best describes your build
  • Which picture best describes your midsection
  • Which picture best describes your shoulders
  • How do tops normally fit on you
  • What size pants do your normally wear
  • What kind of leg rise do you prefer
  • Which picture best describes your tush

 After that, I finished ordering and I waited. The outfit arrived  fairly quickly. A couple of weeks. However, the sizing was a bit off. (I expected that. I’ve gone through the same process for the first outfit I’ve purchased from every made to measure or custom clothing company). I reached out to them and sent pictures. We decided on the alterations for the next one. I sent them the suit back and a few weeks later got my free remake. This one, fit like a charm. The picture below shows the first one on the left, and the remake on the right.

This solved the issue with him not being able to move as freely in a suit and the issue of getting a suit that fits him properly. And, just to note; they keep my measurements on file. When I decide to buy another one, it will fit right out of the box since we fixed the sizing issues. The final issue he had with dressing up is the upkeep and maintenance required for suits. More specifically, dry cleaning and ironing. That’s another thing I love about this suit, it’s machine washable and wrinkle resistant. I’m able to cut down on dry cleaning costs by throwing this in the washing machine and then hang dry it. I have a little steamer that I take with me when I’m traveling for work so any wrinkles that are left over after washing it quickly come out. I’m able to pack this thing in my suitcase (without a garment bag), give it a quick steam (no ironing) and it’s ready for the day.

I tend to wear my Sene Soho FlexTech Suit about once a week, once every other week. I love it. It’s super comfortable, yet still fashionable. My brother has a wedding coming up and I think he’s ready to get his first Sene Suit. Black, of course. It’s a motorcycle club member’s wedding. I’m sure there will be quite a few leather cuts over the suits.
